Five books where women fight the patriarchy at work

I actively search out books about women at work. I even wrote Brooklyn Thomas Isn’t Here because it’s a topic I can’t stop thinking about the impact work has on our lives. My second, under wraps project, is also about what women experience at work — albeit with a very dark twist.

That’s why I was so excited to share five special books with Shepherd.com, a website where authors share what they are reading and what inspires them.

Here’s a little excerpt: “Let’s face it—we spend a lot of time at work. Work is a big part of our lives, but sometimes it’s terrible and feels like there is no winning against institutionalized sexism and capitalism. And you really want to win! I love reading about women who are finding ways to overcome massive obstacles at work no matter what gets in their way, whether it’s by destroying an industry with a spreadsheet, breaking a curse, ditching a bad boss, or just finding a way to survive. Because sometimes that’s all you can do—survive it.”

Find out what I think are the best novels where women fight the patriarchy at work on Shepherds website, or explore other lists that appeal to you. There’s so many niche and fun lists — I’m already super worried about my TBR pile.
